Founded in 2016, Five Frogs provides a hub of support (leadership development roundtables and group and individual coaching) for leaders at varying stages in their leadership journey. Their mission is to build a powerful, inclusive movement of courageous leaders with the competencies, mindset, drive and relationships necessary to create transformational change. Five Frogs is the only statewide, multi-sector leadership development organization working to build a movement for equity in Connecticut.
Through high-impact leadership programs and services, Five Frogs brings an intersectional lens to challenge the inequities that persist. This nonprofit helps leaders across Connecticut acquire the needed mindset, knowledge and vision to deepen their leadership capabilities. James Kemp, one of our volunteer partner leads on this project, shared, “With its focus on racial equity, Five Frogs does great work supporting nonprofit leaders in the state. We are excited to be working with them as they develop a strategy to expand and enhance their programs, increasing their impact as they work to create a more equitable Connecticut.”
We are thrilled to have Five Frogs join our group of passionate and impactful Community Partners and support them in strategic vision planning and capacity-building projects. To learn more about this organization and the work they are doing to build leaders across Connecticut, please click here!
About Executive Director, Lindsey Tengatenga:
With over 15 years of experience in public service, Lindsey has dedicated the majority of her career to creating opportunities, programs and spaces for leaders to grow. After nine years as the Executive Director for Public Allies of Connecticut, Lindsey’s transition to Five Frogs was aligned with her core values and deep commitment to equity. She shared, “When I don’t feel like I am in service to others, I’m not a full person.”
Lindsey recently celebrated her first year as Executive Director at Five Frogs. She shared how honored she is to be part of an organization that supports people across identities to lead change and connect to what makes them come alive. She said, “We cannot change systems without creating opportunities for people to change, transform and connect with the power that already lies within them.” Lindsey feels so blessed to work in collaboration with a team of people who have a “phenomenal capacity for impact.”
Through Social Impact Partners’ work with Five Frogs thus far, Lindsey reflected that the people involved have brought generosity of spirit and belief in the power of work happening. She shared, “Just as the leaders we are supporting gain clarity and courage by having the time and space to reflect in community with their peers, I leave each conversation with my Social Impact Partners team more resolute in supporting real paradigm-shifting, equity-seeking leadership. I’ve always appreciated that [Social Impact Partners] has an underlying ethos of providing true support to the people and organizations doing the work while acknowledging the all-too-common pressure on organizations to do more with less.”
