Located in Groton, The Riverfront Children’s Center is immersed in nurturing the needs of children and their families through affordable, high-quality education and care. Serving 110 children from 12 weeks of age through 4th grade since 1983, the center is focused on creating a community where all children are safe and can receive the highest quality education while supporting their families.
Executive Director Jen Zubek shared that, “Addressing the whole child, including their immediate caregivers, compels us to offer unparalleled wrap-around services on our campus, including a well-stocked free-choice food bank, a hygiene closet with diapers and wipes, and a hardship account that families can tap when an unexpected financial emergency threatens their well-being.” The Riverfront Children’s Center is committed to fostering healthy, resilient, curious, and thoughtful citizens while providing superior early education through play-based learning and nurturing the unique needs of each child.
Social Impact Partners will be partnering with The Riverfront Children’s Center to collaboratively develop a strategic plan that is reflective of the organization’s values as well as provide advice and thought partnership for priority initiatives. Volunteer Partners Adam Kurzer and Emily Moore are excited about the immense opportunity they see in partnering with an organization that is committed to quality and purposeful work while also wanting to expand their impact and grow. Kurzer noted that during their site visit to the center, there was “a whole lot of enthusiasm around continuing to do excellent work” and both he and Emily were “quite impressed with how aligned everyone was with the center’s vision and mission.”
We are looking forward to working alongside this impactful and forward-thinking organization to enhance our shared commitment to expanding access to high-quality education for all children!
