Mary has been a SIP Volunteer Partner for five years. She has spent much of her life and career driven by a deep curiosity about shaping the future and a passion for understanding why people do what they do. With 40 years of experience at top organizations, SIP has allowed her to apply her extensive strategic planning, consulting and market research skills to support a greater purpose.
“SIP was the perfect solution for me because it allowed me to leverage over 40 years of experience in a meaningful way, supporting initiatives that matter. I realized I would rather spend my time and energy on things that will improve life for more people,” Mary shared.
After hearing about SIP at a 2020 Christmas party, Mary joined the organization, bringing her enthusiasm for positive impact and innovation to the Career Resources, Inc. project team. She played a key role in diagnosing opportunities and challenges of the organization, using her expertise in market research, strategic planning and her innate ability to facilitate meaningful feedback.
When asked what advice she would offer someone seeking meaning and purpose after a successful career, she said, “Most organizations aren’t looking for a 72-year-old woman to help with strategic planning, yet SIP has found a tactful and impactful way to utilize my skills. At this stage in my life, I find true happiness in making a difference, and SIP has enabled me to do just that.”
In 2014, Mary founded Last Big Gig, a coaching service aimed at helping women navigate career shifts by providing direction, action plans, clarity, and effective strategies to turn their visions into reality. Today, she encourages women in transition phases of their personal and professional lives to find what truly matters to them and cultivate a purposeful future.
We are deeply grateful for Mary’s thought partnership and her profound impact on every project she’s contributed to!
