Volunteer Partner Highlight: Nancy Kail

Since joining as a volunteer partner in 2021, Nancy Kail has been an integral part of Social Impact Partners’ Connecticut State Colleges & Universities (CSCU) strategic initiative. During her studies for her MBA and Masters in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, Nancy traveled across Latin America. This experience expanded her knowledge and passion to help those who are underrepresented and under-resourced. She found a place to do that at Social Impact Partners and her role has been vital in capturing important input from stakeholders.

Nancy shared, “Throughout my travels, whatever the place, language or age and background of the person, I was always reminded of the universal importance of financial literacy and workforce development. Inevitably, understanding money – how to earn, budget, save, invest and borrow it – was a key that unlocked a door, inspiring focus and purpose in education, professional and personal pursuits for all students and their families.”

Her commitment to addressing financial literacy knowledge gaps came to fruition this past August when she launched Connecticut Financial Scholars. Aiming to bridge the opportunity gap and ensure that historically under-resourced students have equal access to education and skills necessary for achieving financial empowerment, Connecticut Financial Scholars was a “dream come true” for Nancy. As the Program Director, she oversees curriculum and professional development, program expansion, mission advocacy and school partnerships.

“For an organization to truly succeed, it rests on having the right people and leadership to make a difference,” said Nancy. We agree and are grateful that Nancy is part of our team to make a difference! To learn more about Connecticut Financial Scholars, click here.
